12-Week Fit Mommies Challenge Finale (Part 2)

Yes, we’ve started writing about the FINALE of our 12-Week Fit Mommies Challenge!

In case you missed Part One, we’ve mentioned that we got all 12 participating mommies to share about their journey based on these three questions:

  • What’s your conclusion?
  • What did you learn?
  • Did you reach your target?

We have heard from Mommy Cindy, Mommy Sher and Mommy Rajie – you can read their story on this article.

Now for Part Two, let’s hear from Mommy Grace, Mommy Celaine, Mommy Emily and Mommy Caroline!

Mommy Grace practiced healthy eating and exercising for one hour, 4-5 times per week.

Mommy Grace (right) with her sister before the challenge started. She didn’t like her flabby arms!

What’s your conclusion?

“I lost a total of 7.5kg. I definitely could feel an increase in my stamina and energy level. Previously I couldn’t even lift a 4kg weight but now I could even do a lift of 21kg. Over the weekend I went to try on some clothes. I took an L and I was secretly hoping that I could fit into an M, so I tried both sizes. It turned out I could fit into the S size too! I’m thrilled!”

What did you learn?

“I felt like giving up a lot of times but being in the company of a group of mothers with the same mission in this challenge, it helped me to pull through. I also learned to be persistent and be disciplined to eat healthily and exercise at least 4 times a week.”

Did you reach your target?

“I didn’t get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. However, my stamina level is way better. My consolation – muscle mass is heavier than fat.”

“I joined this challenge for two reasons. First, I wanted to be able to look back at my photos of my beach holiday with my dad and sister with fond memories and not hating myself for how I look in the photos.”

“Second, I bought this dress online for my brother-in-law’s wedding. It’s one size smaller than my usual so I’d have to wear a corset on that day. But now, even without wearing a corset, I look slimmer in this dress! I’m totally surprised yet delighted!”

✍ Editor: Congratulations, Mommy Grace! You sure do look so fabulously young!

Mommy Celaine was on the 80/20 rule pairing with personal coaching and Herbalife Nutrition – 80% nutrition and 20% exercise.

What’s your conclusion?

“I’m proud with my results! I gained 1.5kg of muscle and lost 2% body fat throughout the 12 weeks. I strongly believe in the 80% nutrition and 20% exercise principle. I practice good eating habit because having the right nutrition is very important. I’m not a workout person but this challenge pushed me to exercise. I work out with my big community once a week and I go to gym twice a week. I will continue this lifestyle and I can still enjoy my meals without counting calories.”

What did you learn?

“I learned that eating healthily, eating clean and having good nutrition are not the same. Any one of these options will help you lose weight but not all will help you tone up. I found the solution that worked on me and I now know what are the right foods for me.”

Did you reach your target?

“I have put in at least 80% of my effort in this challenge. I’m happy with my results and how I look in the mirror. I don’t measure myself with the weighing scale but rather how I feel and look in the mirror. I will continue this journey as long as I can always be 1% better each day!”

✍ Editor: Congratulations, Mommy Celaine! Your fighting spirit is truly inspiring!

Mommy Emily practiced keto diet, light exercises, healthy eating, and meal replacements.

What’s your conclusion?

“I’m happy to be given the opportunity to lose weight. I’ve been trying to do so for some time. I started off with clean eating followed by calorie counting and I also reduced my rice intake. I slowed down eventually. However, I’m somewhat happy because I managed to lose some weight.”

What did you learn?

“I learned that regardless of what our goal is, discipline + determination + motivation is very important. I also realized that I wasn’t driven enough to achieve my goal.”

Did you reach your target?

“I didn’t achieve my target but I lost 1.5kg! If it wasn’t for this challenge, I might have gained more weight instead! I will continue to build up my stamina and lose more weight!”

✍ Editor: Congratulations, Mommy Emily! Thanks for reminding us about this lethal combo of discipline + determination + motivation to achieve our goal!

Mommy Caroline practiced a combination of intermittent fasting, gym/kickboxing and Young Living essential oils in this challenge.

What’s your conclusion?

“This is doable. Getting fit and healthy is very doable but must be incorporated into daily life. I’m more confident now that I’ll be able to continue this journey beyond this challenge.”

What did you learn?

“It’s far too easy to fall off the wagon and it’s darn hard to get back on it again. Consistency is the key. I’ve learned that as long as I do what’s sustainable, I can do this.

Did you reach your target?

“No, unfortunately. Definitely made progress but still off my target. Probably because I haven’t been doing much for the past 4 weeks.”

✍ Editor: Congratulations, Mommy Caroline! We love your can-do spirit! We will continue to cheer you on until you reach your goal!
